Objectives of the Initiative
Our existence is made possible by numerous materials. In order to build an affluent, sustainable future, we need an “element strategy” for developing superior materials from the finite element resources on Earth. Launched in 2012, the Element Strategy Initiative is aimed at expanding the science of elements, which clarifies the functions and properties of materials, into a broad range of studies focusing on industrial applications in an effort to solve our resource problems.
