Motivation for Becoming a Researcher

I like creative work based on logical thinking. As a high school student, I loved computer programming and physics. Creating new materials based on logical thinking is the best fit for my character.

Your Greatest Strengths

I have a wide range of research skills that are essential for materials science, such as material synthesis, characterization, and first-principles calculations. I also have extensive research experience from elemental science to materials applications.

What Makes Your Research Interesting or Worthwhile

Creating new materials that did not previously exist in the universe and solving scientific problems that were not previously solved give me a sense of achievement.

Other Research That Interests You

The lack of a p-type counterpart limits many potential applications of inorganic semiconductors. For this reason, I want to continue my research to explore new p-type semiconductors.

Interests Other Than Research You Would Like to Pursue

I like reading novels, listening to music, and taking road trips.

Principal Work History:

I received my Ph.D. from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, where I studied Materials Science and Engineering. My main research interests are in mixed-anion inorganic chemistry, low-dimensional physics, and wide band-gap semiconductors.
